Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, on Wednesday insisted that the attack on Ekiti State indigenes were carried out by criminals and not herdsmen.
The MACBAN scribe, who described the killings in Oke Ako, a community in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State as unfortunate, said those who carried out the killing were not herdsmen but criminals. Source: Daily Post.
Opinion: Recall that not long ago, the Governor of Ekiti State, banned Fulani herdsmen from grazing at Ekiti State, over the killings at Ekiti State, by suspected Fulani herdsmen. Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has raised an important issue here. While not ruling out their members from this particular crime, it's also possible, that there could be other criminal elements operating under the guise of Fulani herdsmen. Glad that Governor Fayosa has empowered local hunters to assist with security of the state. With the support of the security agencies, whoever that is responsible would be fished out. In a related story, the Ilorin Fulani herdsmen has begged Fayosa to lift the ban on grazing, to enable them graze their animals. It would be nice to follow the steps Abia and Enugu States have taken on Fulani herdsmen. See the details on www.cvakutamedia.com
