Goal:  Free/ subsidised Health care for the less privileged people within the community
Project Summary
 Operation Mother and Community Health Awareness Programme (MCHAP), is a joint initiative of between Debby Family Health Foundation Nigeria and Migrant & Minority Disability Network Europe.  The directive of our organization is to give information, provide medical and surgical intervention and support to people in our region, which will help them make healthy decisions for themselves and their families, without the burden of high cost associated with their healthcare needs. We will be working with the local school, Churches, mosques, and health centre on this project.

Our aims:
Ø  100% subsidized Antenatal Care registration for 200 pregnant women
Ø  Comprehensive antenatal care to 200 pregnant women including medications and health education.
Ø  25% subsidized vaginal and surgical delivery.
Ø  Comprehensive immunization coverage for 100 children including MMR, rotavirus vaccine and pneumococcal vaccine
Ø  25% subsidized  vaccination for adult -hepatitis B, cervarix, and booster doses
Ø   School health education
Ø  Free medical outreach for Religious organisation
Ø  To  expand this program to other regions and states
Ø  To provide quality family Health Care for families.
Ø  creating awareness and empowering  general public with a view to enabling and promoting healthy lifestyle
Ø  Assessing and providing medical  interventions to patients in need
Ø  Advocate and promote health care information for people in the rural and Urban community  
Ø  Enable communities form community health insurance
Ø  To provide support and welfare to women in the form of counselling, training against gender inequality, also to help reduce and prevent maternal mortality through maternal reproductive health program
Ø  To organize seminars, research and educate community dwellers concerning life threatening disease such as cancer, tuberculosis and HIV /AIDS Etc.
Ø  To enlighten and disseminate information on useful tips for the enjoyment of good health, prevention of diseases with emphasis on screening and early treatment.

                                  
Mission Statement:-                                                                                                                                                       
Debby Family Health Foundation (DFHF) and Migrant & Minority Disability Network Europe (MMDN) has set up this programme principally to provide expert health support for people from the less privileged homes living in Urban and rural communities. We hope to work alongside the State, federal ministries and community based agencies to help target the vulnerable within the State.  We also hope to reduce the burden of accessing good quality of health in their region. DFHF and MMDN will help promote health awareness to all, regardless of social class.

Project Team Members
a)           Ferdinand Iroegbu is a graduate of university of Port Harcourt medical school Nigeria. He is a member of NMA and national college of family physicians Nigeria. He is the chief medical director of Danferd specialist clinics Port Harcourt Nigeria. He is the CEO and founder of Debby family health foundation
b)            Angela Okemena Unufe is a graduate of North London University. A registered intellectual disability Nurse. She graduated with honours from Dublin City University; she is a registered member of An Board Altranais Ireland and Nursing Midwifery Council United Kingdom. CEO and founder of Migrant & Minority Disability Network Europe.
           
c)           Dr Ovusike kingsley is a lecturer at the university of Port Harcourt Nigeria and a consultant burns and plastic surgeon with the university of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital and Kelsy Harrison specialist hospital Port Harcourt. He is a visiting surgeon with Danferd specialist clinics
d)            Dr Bassey Goddy is a lecturer and Honorary consultant of the University of Port Harcourt.  He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of both the West African College of Surgeons and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He has passion for the prevention and treatment of gynaecological cancers. He has been involved in several medical outreaches and presentations aim at improving maternal health.
e)           Dr John prince Udo is a Senior Registrar at the University of Port Harcourt. His specialist field is Anaesthesiology. He is currently studying for his MSC in Pharmacology.
f)            Dr Nwekeala Bright Uche is a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt and registered medical Doctor with Medical and Dental council of Nigeria. He has his primary in surgery in both West Africa College of Surgeons and National Postgraduate College.
Other members of the team include:
Ms Imaobong Asuauo Udoh(Registered Nurse/Midwife), Ms Bassey Dauida Abriza (Registered Nurse/Midwife), Ms Saint Graciela Emuobe (BNSC Registered Nurse/Midwife),
Ms Uwakwe Chinwe Petronilla (Registered Nurse), Ms Mahakwem Faith Ugochinyere (Programme Administrator), Mr Lots Dumaka Akpodee ( Lab Scientist) and Dr Irene Obuzor.

 Programme Achievement Update
To date this programme has performed 30 surgeries ranging from Excision Biopsy, Hydrocele, Inguinal Herniorrhea repair, Fibroid and Keliod Excision Just to name a few. The first Surgery took place on the 12thof October 2015 at Danferd Specialist Clinics Port Harcourt. All surgeries were successful, Patients were admitted for at least 5 days after the procedure, and they are discharged home to recuperate. Presently about 20 pregnant women have enrolled for the free Antenatal CareProject.
