June 12 Democracy Day: Matters Arising.
2.President Buhari should have gone ahead to posthumously announce the remaining result of June 12 1993 Presidential election, former President Babangida failed to officially announce the complete result.
3.President Buhari should send urgent bill to the National Assembly, to wholeheartedly adopt Option A4 System of voting which made it possible for Chief MKO Abiola to emerge the presumed winner of 1993 Presidential election. This system produced the freest and fairest election in the history of Nigeria. We need it now.
4. The federal government should also posthumously honour other people that died as a result of events that followed the annulment of June 12th 1993 Presidential election.
5. The federal government should apologize to Nigerians over the role of Babangida’s government in annulling that election. They should pay compensation to those directly and indirectly affected by the crisis that followed June 12th 1993 Presidential election annulment.
6. The posthumous award of Grand Commander of the Order of Niger (GCON) to Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi. Not sure if Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi would have accepted this award if he was alive, considering the poor human right records of this government, an example is the inability of this government to protect Nigerians from Fulani Herdsmen. To date none has been arrested and prosecuted.
7. President Buhari appears to want to right the wrongs of past governments, for his political gains or otherwise. In the same spirit, He should immediately remove IPOB as a terrorist group because they are not. The question of South East marginalization Must be looked into.
8. Families of those innocent Nigerians killed by Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen deserve apology from the federal government as well as compensation. Doing the above, will come with political gains to him, but it will usher in the true healing for Nigeria.

Fedsas Aba 88/89 Tree Planting Club.
Constitution of Fedsas Aba 88/89 Tree Planting Club.
1:1 This is the constitution of Fedsas Aba 88/89 Tree Planting Club. This constitution is binding and shall be subject to review or amendment from time to time as and when the need arises. In the event of amendment, it shall be by simple majority.
1:2 Address: 7 Aba Road, Umuahia. Abia State, Nigeria. Tel: 08036755345.
1:3 Vision Statement: Fedsas Aba 88/89 Tree Planting Club would be registered in Nigeria as an NGO, and also would seek inter/national affiliate, with a view to plant the best trees.
1:4 Aims.
Planting economic and non economic trees at designated public and private places.
1:5 Benefits of tree planting.
A. Source of revenue to the people, and source of livelihood.
B. Provides shield during the hot season.
C. Trees serve as a buffer to winds (wind breaker).
D. Revenue to the state.
E. Beautifies the environment.
F. Supports fight against global warming.
G. Replacements to the already felled trees.
H. Source of heat (firewood).
I. Help with fight against ecological problems like erosion.
J. Improves the quality of air we breathe.
K. Trees provide foods for our animals and livestock.
1:6 Scope.
A. Tree planting.
B. Educate the public on the importance of tree planting.
C. Advice government of the importance of tree planting.
D. Partner with other national and international NGOs/CSOs/Charity Organisations pursuing same purposes as ours.
1:7 Funding.
A. Financial donations from members.
B. Will seek sponsorship/support from public and private sectors.
C. Will seek sponsorship/support from international organisations.
D. We will go into research, production and selling of seedings to raise funds.
E. We will offer consultancy services on tree planting to raise money
F. Grants/gifts.
1:8 Financial Statements to be published yearly. This would explain all the income and expenditures.
1:9 Annual Report to be published yearly, which would capture all our activities of the year in question.
2:0 Bank Account to be opened for the club.
2:1 Membership shall be automatic for any member of Fedsas Aba 88/89 set that wishes to join/participate. Membership shall also be opened to the public to join.
2:2 Registration at CAC: We shall seek registration at the CAC
2:3 Management Structure.

Voters Registration Exercise: Whither Diaspora Votes?
The last time I checked about the promise for Nigerians in diaspora to vote, was that the bill did not scale through at the National Assembly. However, President Buhari while on a 2 day visit to Cameroon in 2015, promised that Nigerians in diaspora would be eligible to vote in the next generation election which is 2019. Till date no information whether those in diaspora would vote or not. No idea if President Buhari is genuinely interested in this project or not.
Those of us in diaspora appear not to be helping matters either. There should be sustained pressure, protest and lobbying at the National Assembly till this bill is passed. Nigerians in diaspora account for the second largest source of foreign exchange. World Bank estimates that Nigerians in diaspora would remit $22 billion dollars to Nigeria in 2017. Over 19 million Nigerians are in diaspora. They are very significant to be disenfranchised from voting. Logistics can be worked out as other third world countries are doing it.
Time to revisit the bill that would allow diaspora votes.

IPOB As “Terrorist Organisation”, The Wider Implications.
1. Our battered image abroad has been made worst by proscribing IPOB as a terrorist organisation. Effectively there are two terrorist groups in Nigeria. The burden will rest on Nigerians and not on IPOB members alone.
2. Those travelling with Nigerian passport should expect further delays, harassments, interrogations, detentions, and possible deportations by foreign immigration officers. They do not know who is a member of IPOB or not, more so, since everyone uses the Nigerian passport including IPOB members. A friend of mine who is from Akwa Ibom State, but lived and worked in Lagos was delayed and questioned in America over Boko Haram activities at the North East Nigeria. My friend had nothing to do with Boko Haram. These foreign countries are looking for excuses to deal with Nigerians, and President Buhari just gave them one.
3. Expect delays or denials from visa applications.
4. Certain sensitive international jobs might no longer be open to Nigerians due to this factor.
5. Those looking to do business overseas or to bring in foreign partners might be in for a shock. Nigeria will further be listed as a high risk country, despite the previous warning about Nigeria. All western travel advice websites would be updated.
6. Nnamdi Kanu who is the primary target, has dual citizenship so might not be affected. Radio Biafra is in London so will not be affected. IPOB is registered in UK and has membership in over 90 countries of the world, so those outside the country will not be affected too.
